Filters: Rendering and Distorting

One post, two images.  These images came from two easier (but important) tutorials to help build my GIMP skills.  The first image was developed from http://gimp-tutorials.net/gimp_msnbc_effect. This tutorial uses the blend and free selection tool, and the render > clouds filter.  I also learned how to create a new, customized brush.



The second tutorial was developed from: http://www.color2alpha.com/?p=53. It uses the distort>wind filter, Alpha to Selection tool, Grow feature, and rotation skills. Both tutorials are great segways to future tutorials that will use a lot more features.  Next week I'll be attempting to complete a galaxy image.
